Markets in Everything: Online Necktie Rental

Tie Society is an online service like Netflix that allows you to rent designer neckties (and bow ties and cufflinks), for those guys who never want to be seen wearing the same tie twice or just want access an endless rotating, fresh collection of ties.  Membership plans start at $10.95 for one item and go up $49.95 per month for 10 items. Gee! I can't wait until someone tries their hand at starting up a 'socks rental' or even an 'underware' rental service...

have you looked at those ties?

there is not one i'd be caught dead in.

this service is doomed for a simple reason:

people who care enough to want loads of different ties care too much to wear poly micro fiber from JC penny quality makers.

i'm trying to imagine who the customer for this is. it's a cute idea, but this is going to be a wipeout.

jon-

just fashionable.

i don't wear a whole lot of ties anymore, but man, that is some low end crap they are renting.

blech.

i would much rather have a few high quality items than a big pile of crummy ones.

i realize that it takes fashion a while to dribble up to new hampshire where bean boots are still worn with tuxedos, but jeez....

:-P (back atcha)
