quarterly?
these seem to increase in frequency each time you post them.
your last one was 6/28 and called "semi-annual".
yeah.. I noticed that also...
who in the heck goes through and counts "it's" beside Bill Clinton?
The iPhone autocorrects "its" to "it's." This is almost as annoying as when it changes "hell" to "he'll," since I quite often really want to say "hell."
In response to Larry -- I do. As an editor, I've seen this mistake too many times. This is from my blog at CMEditorial.com:
This is basically one of the worst mistakes I see on an everyday basis, and it’s one of the simplest to figure out.
The problem occurs when you assume that “it,” when being used as a possessive, needs an apostrophe. I can’t stress this enough — it’s not the case!! “Its” is fine in the possessive form. The ONLY time to add an apostrophe to “its” is when you’re using it as a contraction for “it is.” So whenever you’re tempted to write “it’s” — stop, and think about what would happen to your sentence if you expanded it to “it is.” If it doesn’t fit, you’re using the wrong version. Simple!
re: the iphone..
OMG - do you mean that some programmer who does not know how to punctuate ... embedded that in software?
what a nightmare for Perry, eh?
;-)
as a Marine "brat".. I had the joy of being moved every two years... back when school curriculums were not standardized...
wait.. there're still not...!!!
we're breeding "it's" .....
You know Mark, most of us do not care that you're neurotic, but for Pete's sake don't whine about it.
There's something about typing on a computer keyboard which must bypass several mental barriers to both spelling and word misuse.
For some reason the sound of a word often seems override proper word usage.
I don't know how many times the word 'there' has appeared on my screen when no question existed that I meant to type 'their'. I'm not particularly fussy about computer message precision, but that's ridiculous.

One the comments reminded me of how much I hate automatic capitalization in (some) iPad Apps.
It often takes me three tries to get what I want.

I agree with those who blame a lot of it on iPhone and iPad -- it's happened to me too many times to count, and after a while you just get tired of going back and correcting its "corrections."
I suggest that in response we should all type i'Phone and i'Pad.
I find the "it's" mistake much easier to figure out than the text message language I get from my students. This is a gr8 blog :)
you should send this to ASU.
their quarterback has this grammatical error tattooed on his arm.

"live life to it's fullest"
And that's the way it's,
" And that's the way it's, "
:-) perfect!

Good one! Like my favorite college prof. said: "spell check is for sissies".
I see "myself" abused every day. Another pet peeve is "I find that concerning." I always ask, "concerning what?"
wHICH IS it:
It is mine!
or
IT's mine!
I am a Head Start student.
morganovich gets a pass on capitalization?
