Gross Hypocrisy: Trump Clothing Made in China

At the same time Trump tells Americans to buy less "crap" from China......
From Salon -- "Donald Trump has emerged in recent years as the nation's foremost China basher, going after the Asian superpower for undervaluing its currency and for taking American manufacturing and jobs. So it's at least ironic -- and at most an example of gross hypocrisy -- that Trump's own line of men's wear, the Donald J. Trump Signature Collection, is manufactured in China (see photo above from a Macy's in Manhattan)."

I guess the rationale will be Trump's China-manufactured products aren't "crap". After all, he didn't say not to buy the "best" from China.

If the clothing were made in the United States, only Donald Trump could afford to buy it.

Going after Trump is like going after Paris Hilton, you just look silly for critiquing the blonde ditz. The guy is just a salesman who doesn't even own most of the buildings his name is on, often times his stake is less than 5%. All the real owners want from him is the Trump "brand," so they can sell to the kind of dummies for whom that's worth something. There was a book a couple years ago that pegged his net worth at $150-250 million, still rich but hardly the billionaire he always claims to be. Like many salesmen, he says whatever he thinks will get a reaction, consistency and credibility be damned.

Note to Donald John Trump, Sr.

A way restore integrity to your signature clothing line can be found at these U.S. clothing manufacturers.

And yet, Trump is the GOP frontrunner. And maybe the best of the lot.

Benji,

If The Donald gets the GOP nomination, I will lie to the world and announce that you are an honest broker.

Unlike President vacation, Mr Trump hasn't been hermetically sealed in a #2 mayonnaise jar under Funk and Wagnall's porch for much of his adult life.

Tom-

Boy, that brings back Johnny Carson, a few decades back.

SBVOR-

Don't rule anything out. The GOP is upside down right now, anything can happen. Could be Ron Paul, Michelle Bachman, D. Trump, Sara Palin. It's wide-open baby, wide-open.

I expect a real fireball to take the GOP nomination, someone considered "radical"--that means they might actually start cutting government, ala Ron Paul.

Trump has talked about the $1.5 trillion we spent in Iraq, w/o getting a dime back. The guy is a businessman. He can do the math on Afghanistan too.

Yes, he is a nut and has a funny hairdo. But at least he knows that income and expenses are supposed to balance.

I don't care if China wants to manufacture low-technology, low precision, low skill, low profit products. The fact is the U.S. is number one in the all the HIGH technology, precision, skill, and profit stuff, e.g. Airplanes.
I would much rather give another country JOBS versus a welfare check like some other countries on our payroll.
