I would put the odds higher if not for this whole immigration boondoggle. They've lost libertarians.
Never underestimate the power of Republicans to pull defeat from the jaws of victory.
I fear they are losing more than libertarians. They are pounding the table for spending cuts instead of tax cuts. Spending cuts only help if they free up room in the budget to cut taxes, which is why spending cuts have always been a loser at the polls. Dems know this, and are moving quickly to paint the GOP as a scrooge who will kill Soc Sec, Medicare, etc.
We need a tax cutting Santa.
