Dr. Mark J. Perry is a professor of economics and finance in the School of Management at the Flint campus of the University of Michigan. Perry holds two graduate degrees in economics (M.A. and Ph.D.) from George Mason University near Washington, D.C. In addition, he holds an MBA degree in finance from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. In addition to a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan-Flint, Perry is also a visiting scholar at The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.

I've seen people tear up their tickets too which always surprised me. I've been to only two or three races, but I think I've seen 2 changed results. Didn't see any scramble to pick up dropped slips, but now I'm wondering if I should have gone through the trash.
Yeah, well, if you work hard at anything 10 hours a day for 10 years, you're bound to make some money.
The gentleman might have made even more money in a non-gambling field in the past 10 years.
