I myself have completely switched to using my Blackberry as my alarm clock for the past two years. There is a definite advantage to its portability for business travelers, and having the same familiar wake-up tone no matter where I am in the world.
Now, if only mobile device vendors would see this trend and add auto-timezone adjustments, so that the alarm would go off at the appropriate LOCAL time no matter where you travel...

Now we know why they lawyered up a while back with the usual hired gun law firms. That is, they lawyered up with the folks who attack citizens as well as unions.

My phone automatically sets its time zone when it powers up. Try shutting yours down and restarting.
Blackberries do not update automatically. The time zone has to be set manually. It's the way they've always been.
Check a Blackberry forum about it for the reasons. Supposedly later versions of OS 5.0 have changed it.
