Wow, I always thought the time value of clipping coupons was greater than the cost savings. I guess I am wrong! I will give coupon clipping a second chance.
Pretty impressive for about 5 hours of effort per week. Well she would be shopping anyway, so maybe only 4 extra hours.
My wife has been very good at this for years. It is one of the reasons I married her.
Actually, no, not consumer greed. Wrongheaded corporate pricing strategy is more like it.
I come from a country where people would suggest seeing a psychiatrist if anyone suggested n-for-1 or coupon based price deals. Groceries have consistently low prices, and you know what - people still buy them. In droves.

The thing is, companies want people to buy their brand/product not the competitor's. Since people tend to keep eating and drinking their entire lives, if you can get someone to switch, you get lots of future sales.
