Unfortunately, you got it...much as one hates the idea of an all-you-can-eat buffet soon to be had by special interests so honed at gaming the system and all at taxpayer's expense.
At least, we can keep a sense of humor while hoping that some of this largesse results in something more beneficial than bridges to nowhere...hey, how about a few levees?
President Obama wants to spend a trillion dollars on welfare, condoms, international STD prevention, 600,000 new government jobs and handouts for illegal immigrants... But, has issued a demand to the Pentagon to reduce it's budget by 11%". The dollar figure is $55 billion.
The stimulus plan is earmarks by any other name.
Anon,
Not at all a surprise. Clinton did the same thing.
Unfortunately, Al Quaeda are not planning similar reductions in spending or military capability.
i agree, the demos are loading up on the earmarks.
but bush and the republican controlled congress still hold the record .
after viewing that chart link, consider that 2001-2006 bush used his veto power only ONCE! who really loves pork?
"after viewing that chart link, consider that 2001-2006 bush used his veto power only ONCE!"...
Well dang bobble! Good catch and guess what, the chances we'll see Obama act like Bush with regards to earmarks seems rather high right now...
" who really loves pork?"...
Sadly its apparent that regardless of party affiliation or rhetoric they all do...
