Chinese Market is Critical to GM

From the International Herald Tribune, "As the world's top auto executives gather in Detroit for the annual auto show there, one of the biggest questions is how GM will fare this year if, as is expected, Toyota passes it to become the world's largest automaker. The answer will depend to a considerable extent on how GM performs in China, its second-largest market after the United States."

I may be bias but I only hear discussions about the American cars. Good or bad I can not remember model names of other car company's.

The new Volt or for future production. I heard you will plug this battery into your garage electrical plug to charge up. 0-60 miles in 3 minutes may be slow, but we need slower start up take off on the roads. I do not like the statistic that the electricity used per year to charge may be like having 10 refrigerators plugged into your home, or add $900 more dollars a year onto your electrical bill. Customers may decide to just pay the higher gas bill in their SUVs.
