Dr. Mark J. Perry is a professor of economics and finance in the School of Management at the Flint campus of the University of Michigan. Perry holds two graduate degrees in economics (M.A. and Ph.D.) from George Mason University near Washington, D.C. In addition, he holds an MBA degree in finance from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. In addition to a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan-Flint, Perry is also a visiting scholar at The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.

I agree. I just heard on the news that New Orleans will now begin random drug testing stops, and random checking for illegal weapons to people walking on the streets of New Orleans. This is due to a high profile murder and other violent crimes. Again the violent law breakers change the law for all of us. We now can be searched on New Orleans streets. I do not like drugs, murderers, gangs and violence, but this is a change a city government is making, that may spread. Do you think this is a good idea?
