Markets In Everything: Talk to a Celebrity

The new website Dial-a-Star.com claims that it is the only place you can talk directly to a TRUE Celebrity on the phone.   

Sample rates:

Danielle Staub: $18 per minute ($1,080 per hour)
Tila Tequila: $20 per minute ($1,200 per hour)
Dina Lohan: $18 per minute ($1,080 per hour)
Nadya Suleman (OctoMom): $12 per minute ($720 per hour)
Michael Lohan: $10 per minute ($600 per hour)

Actually I do know a few of these names...

while i think this is absurd and would never do it, it's a sure sign that we live in a very wealthy nation. this kind of disposable income is amazing.

such practices are common on wall st. firms like gershon lehman have thrived by setting up expert networks where you pay to speak to an expert in a field. i personally find them to be of little value as they just tell you what they told the last 10 guys and lead to groupthink, but the fact that they are thriving seems to indicate than many disagree with me on that.
