Markets in Everything: Computerized Contact Lens

DAILY MAIL -- "Imagine catching up with your texts, social networking and perhaps the news without having to log on to a computer or even glance at a smartphone. Messages and images would simply appear in front of your eyes, generated by a computerized contact lens.

Scientists have developed a prototype lens that could one day provide the wearer with all kinds of hands-free information. It could also be used to display directions and TV programs."

Bionic health care is here!

this actually illustrates the problem with the ever rising costs of health care now days including Medicare.

Health care plans, including Medicare often pay...say 80% of something (or some percent co-pay unless you are lucky enough to have one of those "we pay for everything" plans).

but the bigger question is that as health care offers more and more marvelous but expensive "therapies" - how can fee for service health insurance pay for them without increasing premiums and/or reducing other benefits.. requiring higher co-pays, deductibles, etc?

at some point - some therapies are going to end up classified as "not required to live"....

of course, at that point, cries of "rationing" will grow louder.

I'll take these in glasses before I put something that close to my eyes. Otherwise, I'd not mind that.

Count me in. When your cell phone is a ring on your finger and the display is in your eye itself then I will be happy! I hate carrying stuff!
