Photo of the Day: Apostrophe Hell

The photo above comes from Wordsmith.org, with the following comments from the website's founder Anu Garg:
If there's an apostrophe hell this has to be it. If you see that fellow with his banner, ask him, "Why do you ♥ the apostrophe so much? Repent and believe in grammar."

My thank's to the reader who sent me that mans photo.

Well crap...based on this group's list, I am the devil thrice over:
Environmentalist
Gambler
Sports Nut

I do find it kind of funny "Loud Mouth Women" made the list :-P

That being said, they did leave murderers (murderer's?) off the list. It's a good thing, too, because these people committed murder here and the victim's name is The English Language. The language they so violently slaughtered left behind letters to watch...with their i's.

Although, their question at the top "Who do you heart the devil?" annoys me.

From a theological viewpoint, they are dead wrong.

The Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 5, verses 43-48) teaches us to love and bless our enemies. If these groups truly do represent the devil and the devil's works, then we should love and bless them. After all, Christ says, what good is loving those who love us already? Sometimes a flower is more powerful than a gun.

Sorry for the religious digression.

"P.K's"? Pastors' kids?

I like how Mormon made the list, must drive them crazy that Mitt might be President, though may not be much worse than those liberal Democrat sports nuts Obama and Clinton or just the sports nut Bush. ;)

A google search reveals that P.K'S might refer to Promise Keepers, but that's just a guess.

Next to Free Market Capitalism as the path to prosperity, the signage is a real hoot. Thank goodness for the Constitution protecting freedom of speech.

It appears to be a new word. There is no definition to be found.

And for some unknown reason this antique store has fallen out of favor with the Grammar Slayers.

I believe "High Fullutent Sophisticated Swine" is meant to be "highfalutin sophisticated swine." It is pronounced with a southern twang, and an accurate definition is here:

I take offense to "Loud Mouth Women." I have a feeling that applies to me.

Thanks Carrie. I suspected it was something like that. :-)

Heh. How the Grammar Slayers label you probably won't have much of an impact on your future. :-)

Based on that sign, I would have to disagree. Perhaps you meant *correct* punctuation. :)

I thought of high falutin at first, but then I thought it might be High Pollutant. I didn't realize they were such environmentalists, but it does match the word a bit closer.

You're making that up. No one has said that. The comic relief you provide is priceless.
