Libertarian Candidate Will End War on Drugs

In his new advertisement above, Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson promises to end the "War on Drugs Peaceful Americans Who Choose to Voluntarily Use Intoxicants Not Currently Approved of By the Government," and says "The fact is, marijuana users are no more criminal than our commander-in-chief. So what's up Mr. President, it's OK for you to do it, but everybody else should be arrested and go to jail?"

Johnson's ad features the photo below from the Prohibition-era, back when beer was one of the intoxicants not approved of by the government:

God bless Governor Gary. In a competition between Coke and Pepsi, this twice-elected Governor--who had a stellar record in helping his state become welcoming to employers--looks like a raving lunatic.

Good for him. Of the three candidates the is the only one that is remotely acceptable to anyone who favours individual liberty.

It is clear that the other two idiots will increase the size of the police state. Governor Gary seems to be the only one who would actually cut something and increase liberty.

I gotta agree with Vangel on this one. When choosing between the Republics and Democrats, you are just choosing between what kind of big government you want.

Really vangeIV?

Let me make sure we're talking about the same Gary Johnson here...

If it is the same guy apparently he appeals to the 'p & p' crowd...

Johnson could do to Obama what Nader did to Gore in 2000 (Nader picked up 97K Florida votes and lost)...

P & P? Sorry but you lost me. He is the social liberal and fiscal conservative. Romney is a social conservative and a fiscal liberal. Obama is liberal on both social and fiscal issues.

Johnson could do to Obama what Nader did to Gore in 2000 (Nader picked up 97K Florida votes and lost)...

I imagine that he would take from both sides, particularly if Ron Paul endorses him.

I'm sorry, what does P & P mean?

I am also wondering what, exactly, you object to in that article you linked?

Gov. Johnson is right: the way the Romney campaign handled that staffer was wrong.

Pervs & potheads jm...

Its the 'ron paulness' of it all...

About the only thing I can understand about Gary Johnson (a very late bloomer apparently) is his understandable disgust with the Republican party...

I get it. You can't vote for anyone who has principles and does not violate them to pander to a certain segment of voters as Romney does when he plays up to the Christian Conservatives.

About the only thing I can understand about Gary Johnson (a very late bloomer apparently) is his understandable disgust with the Republican party...

And the Democrats. Which makes him a better candidate than either of the two stooges.

Hm...I understand the 'potheads" thing, but what makes you think pervs would be more attracted to Gary Johnson than another candidate?

Why jm its a grasping straws under the impression that libertarians are all about 'hands off' especially government hands...
