This is fantastic. And the ending with the media swarm vs. the normal people swarm. Just awesome.

Love it, Love it, Love it. The Guys at GMU really put together something cool (only slightly cheesy in parts, but in a humorous way). I actually dug the track and the sound quality, even on YouTube, was really good. I guess this will have to replace "East Coast vs West Coast" as the rap war for a new generation.

Entertaining and well-done rap of a second squareoff between Hayek and Keynes. I even enjoyed the cameo appearance by Dr. Munger as the security guard. I will never think of him the same again.

I don't get it. Who's spending all this money on this video? Production values and visuals were mostly slick, but the writing needed some more work, like that TSA bit in the beginning. The lyrics are so abstruse for anyone but the econ blog crowd, I bet it makes almost no sense to anybody else watching. So what it ends up being is just entertainment for the kind of people who already follow these issues, ie largely a waste of money if the goal is to reach out to newcomers.

I must say the breakout surprise was the security guard though. I remember thinking, "Wow, that looks like Mike Munger, nah, that guy's too schlubby." Mike might have another job in acting if he ever decides to pursue it. ;)

Possibly. But I do think that the message is likely to expand the audience for the message, which seems to be the point. As the divergence between Main Street and Wall Street continues the campuses will provide a natural audience for this message and will attract many more people to the movement against the establishment and the lapdogs in the press.

If I my echo, this is fantastic and brilliant. As for it being too hard to understand, I don't think so. I played it for my two kids, both high-schoolers, and they loved it. I did point out at the beginning the "central planner" and the "free marketer" but that was it.
Who ever put this together needs a larger platform for their ideas. Movie? Maybe?

i doubt that this is true. i certainly got this video set to me by a large number of people. this sort of viral meme tends to spread further than one might expect.

it's also catchy and stays with you. i can still remember all the "school house rock" videos from my childhood.

how is this really any different?

ps.

watch the stephen hawking vs einstein one. hilarious.

I disagree that only the econ crowd will enjoy it. I'm not anywhere near being up with the econ crowd and found it ingenious. My wife never heard of either man. I made her watch it and she thought it was great. Then she said she agreed with Hayek.

I married well.
