Ironically, on an economic level this tsunami may turn out well for Japan. The BoJ has indicated it will engage in QE, and the rebuilding may spur their chronically limp economy. I hope they take advantage of this.
On a personal level, I love the Japanese and all people and I am deeply saddened by these pictures and hope for the best.
Benjamin,
Should I come by your house and throw a rock through your window? Think how much better off your local economy would be as you spend your money replacing your windows.
Benji, break into your next-door neighbor's house, put some towels in their sinks, and turn them on. The next day, go and offer your services to help them rebuild. Its a great way to make money.
