Markets in Everything: Traffic Jam Rescue
BEIJING - "With more Chinese people getting behind the wheel every day, traffic jams are a major headache in most cities but the gridlock has become an opportunity for some entrepreneurs who are offering an escape route - for a price. Drivers who get stuck in traffic in some cities can now get on their mobile phones and call for a substitute to take their cars to their destinations while the frustrated drivers are whisked away on the back of a motorcycle."

What?!?!
No Google maps on those high priced smart phones?...:-)
Bejing's traffic congestion is so bad that China's auto industry may be devasted in 2011 because of new Bejing auto restrictions.

juandos,
To what purpose? to verify that, yes indeed, you are in a traffic jam? And, that every possible alternate route is also jammed?
Hey Ron H, I thought they were 'smart phones'...:-)

well, juandos, I suppose they are. You can put the phone number of your favorite rescue services on speed dial.
I wonder how long it will be before this great idea gets ruined by too many rescuers just driving off with the cars they're supposed to deliver?
