Markets in Everything: Name Your Price for Medical and Dental Procedures at PriceDoc

You've all heard of Priceline.com, where you can name your own price for airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, and cruises.

Now there's PriceDoc, an "online marketplace connecting healthcare providers with consumers looking for medical and dental procedures. PriceDoc enables consumers to compare and negotiate pricing on medical procedures in a given location in the U.S. while providers receive the benefit of generating patients who are willing to pay directly, out of pocket to the provider for their services.  Featured within the web site are "Make Offer" and "Name Your Price," opening the door for consumers to negotiate with providers for the cost of their procedures."

They better patrol their docs better. From what I viewed, there are no discounts being offered. In fact, many prices are over the "cash" price I negotiated over the phone.

Doomed to failure if they're not fulfilling their promise and just wasting viewer's time...

Might not depend on what area of the country you live in cabodog?

A quick perusal of the site seems to indicate a lot of what's offered is by many health insurance companies definition, 'elective surgery' or service...

Doing a quick shot comparison of this sites pricing and the pricing advertised locally here in the St. Louis, Mo area and I didn't initially see any massive differences in prices for comparable services...

Great concept, but site still sucks. Nothing in Minnesota - not even breast augmentation (isn't that one of the most common procedures?)
