New Intrade Futures Contract on Tiger Woods
Here are the rules for a brand new Intrade futures contract (no trading yet) based on "Will Tiger Woods lose any of his current sponsorship deals?"
This contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if Tiger Woods loses any of these current sponsorship deals before midnight ET 31 March 2010:
- Nike
- Gatorade
- NetJets
- Accenture
The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if Tiger Woods does not lose any of the above named sponsorship deals before midnight ET on the date specified in the contract.
11 Comments:
If NetJets has a conduct clause, they may use that as an excuse to back out, simply to save money. Otherwise, why would anyone drop him - it's not as if corporate America only hires athletes that are faithful to their wives
Here is information that may influence the Intrade speculators:
"After several days of evaluation, I have decided to disband the First Church of Tiger Woods."This church was existence since 1996 (website 2000) and disbanded Dec 1, 2009!
Liability issues for Mr. Woods, because he "communicated" with so many loose women, might be a public relations concern.
Tiger Woods is a disgrace. He certainly provides support for the negative stereotypes frequently ascribed to overpaid celebrities.

I love it how often conservatives who say they love the free market complaing about products of the free market like "overpaid athletes" or a "liberal media".
One of the many, many contradictions and hypocrisies conservatives live with and don't notice and don't really care about.

You are confusing social conservatives with fiscal conservatives. There is less overlap of the two than most people believe.
does this count as dropped?

I don't know why these guys get married. If he were still single, there would be zero issues. In fact, it'd be expected.
But sign the dotted line and like Billy Crystal said in City Slickers, you've caught your limit.
Since he was mainly on pace to be the first sports billiionare due to the endorsements, he may have screwed himself. His current ones may stay, but once they expire, its a whole new ballgame in negotiations.
He better bring his A game at the next major. That's the only absolution in the eyes of the sponsors now.

I thought he already was dropped by a sponsor, Gatorade. Any word on if that's confirmed to the satisfaction of that InTrade contract?
All of this hoopla over, what is the count now, nine mistresses? Most golfers are content with a hole in one. No wonder Tiger's wife is teed off.... :D
