Funny thing is, no one's bragging about the price of the SprintCam V3 HD of this amazing bit technical wizardry...
Is that one of those items where if one has to ask the price one is shopping in the wrong place?
My dad keeps trying to get my step-mom to drop the landline but she refuses to. Too caught up in the old ways...
Also where I live, cell phone is MORE reliable than landline because if the power goes out for more than a few hours and they dont put a generator on the phone box, we lose our landlines :-(
This only started happening after they offered DSL in our area, funny how it all works
there are some online international calling services that only work with land lines, so i'm betting the home phones might come back, or won't be obliterated at any rate. www.poketalk.com for example
911 service from a cell phone is dicey. The State Police might take an hour to respond to your call from a cell phone. Even cordless phones don't work in a local power outage. If it's a general power outage that takes out the phone company, reaching 911 will likely be the least of your problems.
I'll gladly pay $8 a month for basic land line service (measured rate) and have a hard-wired phone for that added security.
