Libertarian Candidate Bob Barr Makes His Case
A conservative vote for Sen. McCain is a wasted vote. It is wasted because even if he is elected, he does not stand for conservative values and will not promote conservative values. Government will grow, spending will rise, and liberty will diminish.
But it looks increasingly likely that he won’t be elected, and no one will care about his vote totals if he loses. In contrast, a vote for Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party will be noticed and will have a lasting, positive impact. A vote for Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party will be a vote for liberty and for America’s future.

Uh, no. That's not likely at all. Doubters might like to recall the Libertarian presidential candidate from 2004 and his vote total.
You don't even remember his name, do you?
I live in Maryland, where Obama is up by like 25 points. I'm voting for Barr and won't think twice about it.
Vote for Ralph Nader instead of McCain.

When registered Republicans (and anyone for that matter) vote libertarian, maybe Republicans will rethink where they stand next time.
Splitting the vote on the right merely assures an Obama victory. If you think McCain is bad, take a look at the alternative. How can a libertarian actually wish to embrace 176 different ways to spend your money?
Given that Bob Barr will not form an official opposition party, voting Libertarian is a purely symbolic gesture.
Isn't this just shooting yourself in the foot?
If you're thinking of voting Obama, vote for Nader - at least he's honest and doesn't hang out with terrorists or those who hate America.

well, votes for nader got us george w bush in 2000.
And thank goodness... President Gore?!
I say we're playing with fire allowing a Dem administration AND fillibuster proof congress... but if it makes you feel good to punish the repubs, by all means go for it!
