The chart above (click to enlarge) shows pay around the world for the positions "Head of Marketing and Sales" and "Data-Entry Operator," according to Mercer. Also listed is the cost of living rank and expected pay increase in 2008.
Dr. Mark J. Perry is a professor of economics and finance in the School of Management at the Flint campus of the University of Michigan. Perry holds two graduate degrees in economics (M.A. and Ph.D.) from George Mason University near Washington, D.C. In addition, he holds an MBA degree in finance from the Curtis L. Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. In addition to a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan-Flint, Perry is also a visiting scholar at The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.

The more interesting point may be that the ratio of the pay of the management job to the non-management
pay is lowest in the developed countries. There appears to be an inverse correlation between income inequality and stage of development.
This data could be used to provide a strong argument that income inequality is very bad for economic development.
Russia is number one in cost of living? Wow! they need to build some houses on all that land.
