Really, We Just Can't Have A President.....
Peggy Noonan writing in yesterday's WSJ: We can't have a president who spent two minutes on YouTube staring in a mirror and poofing his hair. Really, we just can't.

What an assortment. Can't say that I find any of these folks particularly inspired or inspiring.
When you actually start considering them on the basis of the least bad option, you know you're in trouble.
It was interesting to hear the reactions of the front runners to the assassination of Benezere Bhutto. Only Clinton came close to actually saying something remotely appropriate, the rest of them were lack lustre and wooden, to the point of seeming disinterested in a major international event. Even GWB came out looking better than these folks.
When the scripting & kew cards run out, just what do these people actually have to offer. How does one actually choose between the smoke & mirrors?
LOL, this is an example of why Hillary is a great politician. She knows morons like 'anonymous' need their leaders to say something inspirational in moments like this. Not necessarily, accurate or honest, just something to make them feel better.
I saw Mitt Romney's and John McCain's responses and they were sober, honest and realistic. Thats fine for me and the people in the know, but 'anonymous' and the majority of the electoral populace unfortunately need their leaders to say something inspirational, not necessarily honest or realistic.
What a schmoe! Can you spell VAIN and SUPERFICIAL!
I don't like Edwards anymore than the rest of my fellow rationally-thinking Americans, but in all honesty...I wonder what the two minutes preceeding any of the other candidate's television appearances are like?
Machiavelli999,
I agree with you that Hillary is a good politician (her husband is a great politician and one hell of a speaker).
I did not hear John McCain who tends to be a straight shooter. Obama, Romney & Guliani were the ones that I heard and they seemed very lack lustre. Perhaps, they are tired from campaigning. At least Obama did not try to work the tragedy into his rhetoric as he did with the Virginia Tech massacre.

I'm glad that you can find honesty and realism from these folks. Some of us find their managed, studied rhetoric to be somewhat less than stellar.
I don't really think the word moron has a place in a civilized exchange of ideas. You and I obviously disagree but there seems little need to be offensive about it.
I have not heard any clear vision or direction for the future of the country aside from populist baloney and mud slinging between the candidates.
Toooo baaaad we didn't have a camera around when Saint Ronnie was applying the mascara. There are more important issues on the table here.
Oh yes, and it reduces the level of seriousness of your blog to post such dreck.
Thanks for the guffaw...I haven't laughed that hard in a while!
