Then armed "nuisance abatement team" gestapos came and drove people off their land in the California desert.

Boy, they lay it out thick at Reason TV. "Rugged individualists"--who live on Army pensions. Life-long pensions. After 20 years of service. And lifetime medical (VA).

Well, except for a lifetime umbilical cord to Uncle Sam, these guys are tough.

Note it is a local government harassing these guys living on their own land.

Per his usual style the pseudo benny has no idea what he's talking about again: "who live on Army pensions. Life-long pensions. After 20 years of service. And lifetime medical (VA)"...

Apparently there's another word you don't know anything about and that word is, 'contract'...

Spoken like a man without a clue, as I would tell you. A military pension for a Vietnam vet is 50% of base pay with COLA's. That 'Free Nedical' covers 80% of cost these days, the VA is for people with service-connected disabilities. Any other vet that shows up at the door had better have insurance; and if you don't pay they can garnish it from your tax refund or your paycheque.

Oh, is that all? 50 percent of of your last paycheck for life, courtesy of US taxpayers? Oh, boo-hoo.

And you were what--45 years old when you retired? Jeez, that's really tough.

And VA benefits for the rest of your life? I cry a Niagara--as a taxpayer that is.

Here's what I say: No more public pensions for anybody ever, not federal, not state, not local. They are time bombs. Employees get a straight paycheck, and if they want to save part of it so be it.

Any of you guys read the papers? We have a huge deficit problem. Our economy may tank if we do not fix it.

Then there will be no more national defense. Better to start cutting now.

Juando and Ron H:

Okay sure, let's keep giving federal employees full pensions and lifetime medical care after 20 years of service.

Oh, that will balance the budget, pronto.

VA outlays have tripled since Bush jr. Defense outlays have doubled. In real dollars.

Homeland Security through the roof.

I pay taxes, I pay more taxes, and then I pay more taxes.

But I am the problem.

Are you guys Democrats?

Are just the latest vile excretum to be issued from the southern portal of the GOP dunceworks?

Benji Bad Ass,

"Are you guys Democrats?"

That's a joke, right? Last I looked, you're one of the few dumbasses who post here that voted for Obama.

"Well, except for a lifetime umbilical cord to Uncle Sam, these guys are tough."

You know about as much about the military as the other topics you post on here. I don't mean that as a compliment.

Your failure to separate the military from other federal employees, or even an infantry related MOS with a REMF field, is staggeringly idiotic. You want to zero out their pensions? Good luck convincing young men to kick down doors with psychotic terrorists hiding inside.Patriotism will only get you so far.

I'd like to see how brave you are, Benji boy, heading out to the bar stool factory knowing there could be snipers on the roofs and IED's planted in the roadside trash.

Juandos,

What do you proposed we do with the useless? What criteria would you propose to decide?

pseudo benny you're beyond doofus to lump retired armed forces with all the federal employees but then again you've shown us you're about as sharp as a doorknob...

Well hydra is yet another person who didn't do his homework and read the yearly statement (assuming he's working and drawing a check) from SS, especially the small print...

Send to your place hydra, this will give you a chance not only to talk the talk but walk the walk too...

"What criteria would you propose to decide?"...

They exhibit pseudo benny characteristics...

SS is not a contract. There are no guarantees. Read the fine print.

Why do you think anyone has to propose "we" do something with them? What is their plan for themselves?

juandos is right. Since you feel so strongly about it, you could probably take care of many of them on your farm.
