Minneapolis in the News
1. National Geographic's 10 Best Summer Trips for 2011 includes Minneapolis.
2. Minneapolis, aka "The Mill City," is becoming a "phenomenal baking town" according to a recent NY Times article. My personal favorite is the Franklin Street Bakery.

One of the best for sure! May have to move back.
One of my bucket list items is to see Prairie Home Companion at the State Theater in Minneapolis - before Garrison Keillor reitres.
I'll have to check out the Bakery.
Also, The Advocate has declared Minneapolis to be the most gay-friendly city in the US. San Francisco placed 11th.
Since half of my friends are gay, I can believe it.
It's a nice enough place, but the winters are just plain awful.
Given that there are so many lists created by so many magazines it would not be surprising to see Minneapolis on some of them. If it is as good as going to Muskoka or Istria then a trip may be worthwhile. (Even if you are not interested in gay friendly destinations.)
