Apparently people want to find out the thought process behind tax, spend, increase size and scope of government, redistribute, build deficits and debt, and basically paint the world in your own self image through the non-empirical notion of “the way thing ought to be“.

On the other hand, the rankings may well be counterintuitive regarding business blog traffic. That people visit Krugman and DeLong in order to:

(a) find political-economy comedy relief, and/or,

(b) to identify the wrong political-economy answer in order to narrow the search for the correct answer and/or,

© find material to easily rebut on their own blogs.
