Pothole Repair Smackdown: KFC vs. PETA

CHATTANOOGA TIMES FREE PRESS --The ante went up Thursday in a battle over chicken-naming rights on city streets. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter Thursday morning to Mayor Ron Littlefield, saying the group would double the amount of a donation the city received from KFC Corp. to fix potholes on city streets.

KFC gave $3,000, and PETA is offering $6,000.

But we like chicken so much better than turkeys.

Ah, yes, I am a proud member of People for the Enjoyment of Tasty Animals. Take on those lefties, KFC, and let PEOPLE decide what they want to eat, not some radical group hellbent on dictating what they think is ethical.

Might be nice if PETA spent some of that money taking care of the pets they take in instead of euthanizing the vast majority of them.

Competition! Bring it on!

If this keeps up, maybe we can eventually abolish taxes.

Yes, happyjuggler0.

Plus, the added benefit of the possibility that silly little PETA will go broke doing this.

Two potential wins!

I'm a bigger fan of chickens over scum-sucking cretinous swine, myself.

I can see that the activities reflected in your avatar are already having an affect.

You're far enough along that you may even be ready to become a member of PETA soon.

It would be interesting to see PETA get into a financial auction with KFC and other businesses.

I'm all for competition. This might be the most brilliant idea by a restaurant ever. Especially since PETA will NEVER get the people who eat meat to stop eating meat (since it's so darn tasty).

The city should really take PETA up on its offer. And KFC should continue to up the ante.
