It is so appropriate that the cell phone era began in 1983, the year my daughter was born. I have observed the evolution and depended on her for cell phone instructions and insight. I hope her generation appreciates the power at their fingertips.

  4. OMG. I still remember using one of those. Had to carry it around in a special case - but it was a good arm workout lifting the thing to your ear and trying to actually hear anything.

  5. I'm still using the 1983 model. I have tens of thousands in free phone upgrades at my disposal, but I'm waiting for the right time to buy.

  7. Thank you so much for posting this. I have a really hard time with choosing the right mobile phone for myself. This helped a bit.

  8. After all this they still can't/won't design one for grandad - that's me- who only wants to have a phone took keep in the glovebox in case the car breaks down.
And a phone with a keypad that is similar to the line phones.
