Rick's rise was always ephemeral, coming as it did after no campaigning. He'd have to have been perfect to maintain that presumption of front-runner status, but obviously he's had his gaffes. At this point, his real run is for second place, to secure his name for the next go-round. Republicans tend to pick the guy who did well the time before, hence McCain and Romney got the nomination after their second-place runs in '00 and '08. Perry should hope he can keep that trend going.
Rick Perry is a bilious knave, a vile excretum from the southerly portal of Texas, plopped on the national stage sans ceremony or regrets.Maybe Perry can team up with Herman "Is Libya Africa?" Cain, a sort of chocolate-and-vanilla "Duo from the GOP Dunceworks." Newt and Ron Paul are smarties, but perhaps both koo-koo.And Mitt Romney is a Mormon cultist. The GOP is The Gong Show this year. But great theater.
